Burning hope

Investigation, essay, cinematic poem, based on 70 6.25 audio tapes recorded by Jean-Luc Godard in Palestinian camps in 1970. Miraculously rescued from the bombing of Beirut in 1982, these tapes were entrusted to Elias Sanbar by Godard. Elias has kept them in his cellar for 40 years. Listening to them today, as war rages once again in Gaza, what images of the world might emerge from these sounds pierced by time?
