The lighting table

The duo formed by the French director and his Algerian guide investigate the Kabylia photographed in 1960 by a French sub-lieutenant, the former's uncle. The color slides of the time become windows that open up, like theatrical sets in which the protagonists and their descendants illustrate their memories in the harsh reality of the present day.
