Ana Rosa

Catalina Villar / documentaire / 93 min / 2023

Coproduction with Perruque Media Lab

English

A single passport photo found after my parents' death: that of my grandmother, Ana Rosa, who died before I was born and was never spoken of in the family. I only knew that she had undergone a lobotomy.

In drawing out the threads of this drama, I explore the links between psychiatry and the society of its time, and the very special place of women in this history...
