The blue room
Paul Costes / 49 min / 2015

Memory is a bag of knots. In an attempt to untangle it, I suggest that my family organize a meal to commemorate the 10th anniversary of my father's death. A brutal death: a “lightning” heart attack at the age of 56.
Negotiations, tête-à-tête, re-enacted scenes, digressions, this “documentary comedy” draws its characters into an amusing dialogue between present-day family scenes and super-8 family archives. In the course of this portrait of a family of notables from southwest France, in this relationship to mourning and the immortalization of family life, another film is born. A film I'm making to see my father, only this time... He's gone.
