The river is not a border
Alassane Diago / documentaire / 106 min / 2022
Coproduction with Les films Hatari, Ma.Ja.De filmproduktion and Indigo mood films

In 1989, after a skirmish near the border between Mauritanian shepherds and Senegalese farmers, there was an incredible escalation of racist violence in both countries. Thousands died and tens of thousands became refugees. Today, despite appearances, the wounds have not healed.
With this film, I want to try to understand what really happened, I want to pay tribute to the dead, and above all, I want to take a step towards reconciliation.
