French without histories
Raphaël Pillosio / 2009 / 84 min
In co-production with 24 Images

Whether of Gypsy, Manouche, Yeniche or Roma origin, or simply poor people living in caravans, French citizens were interned as “Nomads” during the Second World War. More than twenty-five camps, scattered across France, imprisoned around 6,000 people between May 1940 and May 1946.
This film goes in search of the last remnants of this past, the places that keep this history secret and the few internees whose memory lives on.
