Children of Beyrouth

How can I define my relationship with a city that is constantly forcing me into perdition? I ask my father Nader, a former government official, about his work during the reconstruction of Beirut.

To rebuild, you have to destroy, it seems. Reconstruction turned into a relentless series of real estate projects that erased the traces that linked us to our city.

Today, I'm filming Dalieh, a unique territory threatened with extinction. It's the last public place where the people of Beirut meet the sea. A major real estate project is planned there.

There's still time to look at Dalieh - what's left of our city.
