Since Autumn 2019, the Alayli family has been suffering from the economic and social crisis that is sweeping Lebanon. A l'Ouest de Mai paints a portrait of a family of fishermen in Beirut, surviving day by day on their wits and with a sense of humor. The strong bonds between father, mother and son are put to the test by ideological discord. For me, the Alayli family is the epitome of this country.
